On July 8th, 2025, San Marcos deputies responded to the 1400 block of Grand Avenue, San Marcos, to investigate a report of a burglary and sexual assault of a female victim. The suspect, who was later identified as 41-year-old Adolfo Brito, forced his way into the victim’s room, armed with a box cutter. Brito forced the victim to remove several items of jewelry. After stealing the jewelry, Brito then forced the victim to undress herself and proceeded to sexually assault her. The victim repelled Brito’s actions and fought him until he fled the scene.
On July 15, 2025, with the assistance of the Fugitive Task Force, Brito was arrested in the 1300 block of Park Center Dr. in the City of Vista. Brito was placed under arrest for violations of California Penal Codes, 211 – Robbery, 459 – Burglary, 220 – Assault with the intent to commit a felony, 245 – Assault w/ a deadly weapon and 487 – Grand theft. Brito will be booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
