On Thursday, September 30, 2021, at approximately 7:15 AM, Oceanside Police responded to a reported shooting at the Oceanside Transit Center, 195 South Tremont Street. When officers arrived, they were directed to a male subject (31 years of age) who had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left hand. He was life flighted to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla and is currently listed in stable condition. The suspect is identified as a white male adult approximately 5’ 7” tall, 140 lbs, blue eyes and brown hair. He also has tattoo’s under each eye.

UPDATE
On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at approximately 8:45 AM Oceanside Police Detectives, working from public information, were able to locate and arrest the suspect in the above described case. The suspect is identified as 38 year old Brett Burgess. Burgess was arrested on a Felony Warrant for Attempted Murder. The weapon, a hand gun, used in this case was also recovered.
