COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women’s cross country team competed in two meets Saturday morning. Several Cougars traveled to Romeville, Ill. to compete in the Lewis Crossover, while others stayed close to home to race in the UCSD Triton Classic. The Cougars (10th) cracked a top 10 finish out of the 36 teams competing in the Lewis Crossover.
FINISH LINE •Jax Heckers completed the 6k course in a time of 23:44.9, crossing the finish line in 54th place at the Lewis Crossover.
•Teammate Renee Laurenzana (23:49.3) crossed seconds behind Heckers to place 61st out of the 402 women racing.
•Marina McDonough (67th) wasn’t far behind Laurenzana as she registered a time of 23:58.9.
•Erin McNeil was the first Cougar to clock in at the Triton Classic with a time of 24:17.73, placing her 30th overall.
•Alicia Villarreal finished with a time of 24:59.01 to earn the 41st slot.
