An evacuation was in place Wednesday for a fast-moving three-alarm brush fire off Park and Sunnyhill drives
The fire, named Park Fire, was in a canyon in a heavily populated area. A reverse 911 notification has gone out to residents in the affected area, the Carlsbad Police Department said.
Evacuees were asked to go to the west parking lot of The Shoppes of Carlsbad shopping center.
All homes along Park Drive from Hillside to Marina drives were asked to evacuate now. Evacuations include homes on Seabluff Circle and Coastline Avenue, according to Carlsbad Police.
All homes from Adams Street and Park Drive to Highland Drive were also asked to evacuate.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. around Park and Marine drives near Agua Hedionda Lagoon, according to the city of Carlsbad.
The fire’s forward spread was stopped around 3:15 p.m., according to SoCal Air
