We are happy to report that the State Street Drainage Repair Project is ahead of schedule! Not only will it be finished sooner than anticipated, but it also proved itself more than worthy during our most recent week-long rain event even before it was completed. The curb work on the west side of the street is expected to be completed this week. They will then open the parking stalls on the west side and begin curb replacement on the east side. The paving is scheduled for Monday (4/20) from 6am to 6pm. This will require total road closure to traffic during these times. Sidewalks will still remain open during this operation to allow access to the businesses. Touch-up work will follow in the days after paving (sidewalk panel replacement, striping, and painting) but these impacts will be minimal in comparison. Weather permitting, we will have a shiny new – and properly draining – State Street the first part of May. Thank you City of Carlsbad!
