After eight long weeks, the State Street Farmers’ Market is, once again, open. The staff and vendors are looking forward to seeing their loyal customers after this unprecedented hiatus and bringing them fresh, local, picked-this-morning produce, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, nuts and honey. Think of this “new” modified market as an outdoor grocery store where you can shop in the fresh air and sunshine and where physical distancing won’t be difficult. Keep in mind, there will be fewer vendors to begin with, focusing primarily on our certified growers. And hot foods will not be in the market at this time. With specific protocols in place, you can shop knowing that your safety is our main concern. What can you do to help? If you are feeling healthy, please come to the market with your mask on and be prepared to shop deliberately, and then please head back home.
