Tuesday evening, March 10, 2020, the Vista City Council will review years of study and meetings on homelessness to set the City of Vista’s Strategic Plan. The meeting begins at 5:30 pm at Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Dr. on the second floor in the City Council Chambers. If you want to speak to the Council, fill out a request form to speak for three minutes.

The Strategic Plan was created through an extensive community outreach and input with four community meetings, two business community meetings, four City Council meetings, one public workshop, and 14 one-on-one meetings with the following Service Providers (Mental Health Systems, Alpha Project, Interfaith, Operation Hope, Solutions for Change, Vista Community Clinic, Health and Human Services, Exodus, Community Resource Center, Eldercare, Jewish Family Services, Regional Task Force for Homelessness, North County Lifeline and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department). Additionally, the Strategic Plan was available on the City’s website for a 21-day public comment period (February 1-22 2020). A total of thirteen Vista residents, business owners and service providers provided comments on the plan during the public comment period via email, phone call and in person. Public comments ranged from support for the plan to request for more resources to provide homeless services.
