CHICO, Calif. – For the third time in his career, Cal State San Marcos track and field’s Ndoto Strong earned the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Field Athlete of the Week award on Tuesday morning.
Strong put up a season-best mark of 16.66 meters in the shot put and finished second at the San Diego Collegiate Challenge this past Saturday. His NCAA Division II provisional mark currently ranks second in the nation. He then put up a season-best mark of 49.11 meters in the discus throw and finished third for the event. The mark currently ranks fourth in Division II.
This is Strong’s first Field Athlete of the Week honor of 2019 as he earned the award twice last season.
Strong and the rest of the Cougars will head to Point Loma for the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate Scoring Meet on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
