CARLSBAD, Calif. – On January 27th at 5:39 a.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department and the City of Carlsbad Fire Department were called to the 3400 block of Don Jose Drive after a report of smoke and flames seen coming from a residence in the retirement community.
Multiple engines from both the Carlsbad Fire Department and the Oceanside Fire Department responded to the area and extinguished the fire. Two residents were evacuated from the fully engulfed residence. One of the residents, a 62 year-old female, was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. Affected residents were connected with Red Cross in order to receive assistance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
