On November 22, police officers from the Escondido Police Department responded to an anonymous tip of a subject selling drugs who was also in possession of a firearm. The subject was reported to be living in a tent on California Transportation (Cal Trans) property on the side of Highway 78 in the area of the 800 block of Metcalf Street in Escondido.
Officers contacted two people in the tent and saw a weapon in plain view. Detective Chris Naranjo obtained a search warrant for the tent and seized two handguns, ammunition, Hydrocodone pills, fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and ecstasy pills. Police arrested Teron Armstrong, a 37-year-old resident of Escondido, for possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and felon/addict in possession of a firearm. Randy Peltier, a 34-year-old resident of Escondido, was arrested for felon/addict in possession of a firearm. Both subjects were booked into Vista Detention Facility.
