The topic of supporting the Iranian protests was presented to the Public Policy club during a meeting in October. Damian Sanchez, the co-president, introduced the topic and his desire to create an event that spread awareness and support for the protesters in Iran.
The date of 11/29 was eventually selected because of the World Cup match between the U.S. national team and the squad from Iran later that day.
The students did gather to make the signs on Monday, 11/28 after school. The slogans werte selected from research of the ones being used by the protesters in Iran An important component of this session will be Mr. Leary reviewing safety and lawful behavior.
About 125 students participated. The event was hosted by the Public Policy club, the leader of the event was senior Damian Sanchez, the club’s co-president.
