On March 6th, 2021 at about 8:30 PM, a thirty-year-old white male adult attempted to kidnap a thirteen-year-old Hispanic female while she stood in front of the “Water Shack” ice cream shop located at 807 North Santa Fe Ave, in the City of Vista. After repeatedly attempting to coax the victim to come with him, the unknown suspect reached out and grabbed her by the sweater. The victim was able to escape and run inside the business, where her older brother was waiting. The suspect fled on a “razor” type scooter and was last seen traveling west bound on West Connecticut Avenue. Patrol deputies searched the area with assistance from the Sheriff’s ASTREA Helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The victim described the suspect as a white male adult, six feet tall, 160 pounds, with a light complexion, a thin build, approximately thirty years old, wearing a dark colored beanie, a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants.
