At 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, the Oceanside Police Department received a call of a foul odor in the Upper Pond area of Guajome Regional Park. Responding officers located a deceased male person in the water.
When a person is found deceased and the manner or cause of death is unclear, a suspicious death investigation is conducted. An investigation and autopsy will be completed by the Coroner’s Office in this case. The decedent’s identity is currently withheld, pending notification of next-of-kin.
