MainStreet Oceanside presents the Fifth Annual Taste of Oceanside on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 2-5 p.m. Downtown Oceanside’s most anticipated event of the year, Taste of Oceanside gives attendees the opportunity to taste their way through Oceanside’s exciting food and brew scene – one bite and sip at a time.

Attendees can walk to each participating venue – or take a trolley – to sample local handcrafted cuisine and, optionally, beverages by the restaurants, brewers and wineries that have made Oceanside one of the leading foodie destinations in San Diego County.

Along with live music throughout the district, attendees can enjoy up to 35 tastings and 12sips this year, including offerings by new restaurants and tasting rooms in Downtown Oceanside like St. Tropez Bistro & Beyond, Fat Joe’s O’side, Benito’s Cafe and Orfila Vineyards & Winery. New this year, come experience Taste of South Oceanside at the corner of N. Tremont Street and Pier View Way parking lot, which includes Tambo, The Wet Noodle, Beach Break Café, Anita’s Mexican Restaurant and Privateer Coal Fire Pizza.

Only 1,000 tickets are available for this rain-or-shine event, so food lovers are encouraged to buy early on www.tasteofoceanside.com or at the Main Street Oceanside office at 701 Mission Ave. Food tasting tickets are $30 in advance, and food and beverage tasting tickets for attendees who are 21 and over only are $40. If any tickets remain, they can be purchased for $35 and $45 the day of at the attendee check-in booth at Civic Center Plaza, 300 N. Coast Highway.

Two dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to the North County Food Bank, which will provide 10 meals to North County residents in need. Based in San Marcos, the North County Food Bank provides food assistance to working-poor families, fixed-income seniors, low-income military families and children living in poverty in communities throughout North County.

Taste of Oceanside will continue to promote zero waste in Oceanside by giving a commemorative spork to each attendee. Provided by event sponsor Green Oceanside, the uniquely embossed Taste of Oceanside spork will eliminate the addition of over 20,000 plastic utensils to the landfill.

MainStreet would like to thank event sponsors Green Oceanside and Pacific Marine Credit Union for their support.
