The Berries are Back! Vista Strawberry Festival Presents “A Berry Sweet Market” & Virtual 5K

Join us in historic Downtown Vista for this annual celebration of the beloved strawberry

June 4, 2021 (Vista, CA) — The Vista Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome our community back to the streets of historic Downtown Vista for “A Berry Sweet Market & Virtual Run” held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Featuring more than 150 vendors, the ‘Celebration of the Berry’ will highlight strawberry-themed treats, fruit-filled activities and fields of attractions at the day-long event. After postponing the 2020 occasion due to COVID-19, the popular festival returns with adjustments made to follow local pandemic safety guidelines.

“At the Vista Chamber of Commerce, we’ve been so proud of our community’s unwavering strength, resilience, and neighborly spirit during the pandemic and through the resulting hardships,” said Rachel Beld, CEO of the Vista Chamber of Commerce. “We’re thrilled to welcome folks to the Vista Strawberry Festival, which we’re calling a ‘Berry Sweet Market’ this year and adhering to local pandemic safety guidance. We can’t wait to see our happy families enjoying bushels of strawberry-themed activities, competing in fun contests and visiting our creative vendors as we once again celebrate this cherished event in beautiful, historic Downtown Vista.”

Taking place on Father’s Day, the event will certainly be a family-friendly affair. Guests will have the pick of the crop of fruity things to choose from, such as:

• Grab your dad and lace up your shoes for the Strawberry Festival’s Virtual 5K. The 3.1-mile race will be held virtually on the date and time of your choice! Participants are encouraged to run, walk, bike, skip or even moonwalk in support of the Chamber of Commerce, schools and nonprofits. Pick up your race packet at the Berry Sweet Market and receive fresh strawberries!
• Prove the old adage that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree by entering the Father-Child Look-a-Like contest and win a prize!
• Are you the “berriest” berry in town? Does Strawberry Shortcake look to you for wardrobe advice? Show us your sweet side by entering the Strawberry Costume contest paying homage to Vista’s beloved fruit.
• Do you have mad folding skills? Put them to use by entering the Frozen T-Shirt contest where you can race against others to see how quickly you can unfold and wear a frozen t-shirt. It will be the cherry on top of a super fun day!
• We’re seeing red! The Shades of Red juried art show will also be back for the 8th year, hosted by BackFence Society and juried by Daniel Toledo. Submittals are due by June 18, 2021. Prize winners will be announced at 4pm at the event.
• Stop and shop Vista’s Downtown merchants and restaurants and enjoy their strawberry and Dad-themed offerings!
