CHICO STATE •CSUSM is 3-1all-time against the Wildcats.
•The Cougars registered a series sweep last season against Chico State, squeaking out a 63-61 victory in the Homecoming Game on Dec. 3 before claiming a 77-65 win over the Wildcats in Chico on Jan. 11.
•The Wildcats are in the middle of a three-game winning streak that included victories over Cal State L.A. (64-55) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (74-57).
•Chico State is leading the conference with a 72.3 points per game average. Senior Whitney Branham is this week’s CCAA Player of the Week after averaging 21.0 points and 5.5 rebounds with a perfect 13-of-13 effort from the free throw line.
HUMBOLDT STATE •CSUSM is 2-3 in the all-time series record against the Jacks.
•Last season, the Cougars defeated HSU on the road, 65-51, before falling in a heartbreaker at home by a score of 60-59.
•The Jacks haven’t lost since Nov. 21, racking up seven consecutive wins including a 83-73 win over Cal State L.A. on New Year’s Eve.
•Sophomore Tyla Turner ranks third in the CCAA in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars earned their second CCAA win of the season on New Year’s Eve, defeating San Francisco State 82-68. Senior Raegan Lille notched her first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
•The Cougars rank inside the top five in multiple categories in the CCAA including; first in 3-point field-goal percentage defense (25.7 percent), second in defensive rebounds (30.4) third in rebounding (42.7), third in blocked shots per game (3.7) and fifth in assists per game (13.6).
•Senior Stephanie Somers is averaging 1.7 3-pointers per game, ranking her eighth in the CCAA.

CHICO STATE •CSUSM is 1-3 all-time against Chico State.
•The Cougars and Wildcats split one game apiece last season with Chico State winning 80-68 on Dec. 3 in San Marcos followed by a 59-58 CSUSM road win over the Wildcats on Feb. 11. Ethan Alvano hit the game-winning 3-pointer with just 2.1 seconds left and led CSUSM with 21 points and seven assists. It was the only home loss of the season for Chico State.
•Chico State has won five of their last six games and are coming off an 81-63 home loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday, Dec. 31.
•Four Wildcats are averaging double-digits in points with Corey Silverstrom (15.3) leading the way, followed by Jalen McFerren (13.8), Isaiah Ellis (12.9) and Justin Briggs (10.4). Chico State is the defending NCAA West Region Champions.
HUMBOLDT STATE •The Cougars are 2-2 all-time against the Jacks.
•CSUSM and HSU split last season’s two-game series a game apiece with the Cougars falling in Arcata 89-78 on Nov. 26, 2016 before defeating the Jacks 95-90 on Jan. 14, 2017 inside The Sports Center. Ethan Alvano (24) and Joe Boyd (20) led the team in scoring.
•After dropping six straight games, the Jacks have rebounded with three consecutive wins and are coming off a 69-64 win over Cal State L.A.
•Tyras Rattler Jr. leads HSU in scoring with 14.3 points per game. The Jacks rank first in the CCAA in offensive rebounds, averaging 39.1 per game.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars closed out 2017 on a four-game winning streak.
•CSUSM went 2-0 last week with a 96-79 road win over Stanislaus State on Friday, Dec. 29, followed by an 86-76 win over SF State on New Year’s Eve inside The Sports Center.
•Senior Ethan Alvano ranks seventh in the nation in steals (220), 10th in steals per game (2.67) and 12th in assists per game (6.9).
•As a team, CSUSM ranks in the top 25 nationally in multiple categories including second in three-point field-goal percentage (44.9), 20th in field-goal percentage (50.4) and 24th in scoring margin (14.1).
