SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men’s and women’s basketball teams will travel to La Jolla to take on crosstown rival UC San Diego on Tuesday night before returning home on Thursday to host Sonoma State inside The Sports Center.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UC SAN DIEGO •CSUSM is 0-4 all-time against the Tritons.
•The Cougars dropped an 81-63 decision on Homecoming Night this past December in The Sports Center. Senior Stephanie Somers tallied a season-best 16 points after going 4-for-5 from the 3-point line.
•The then-No. 24 ranked Tritons saw their 11-game win streak snapped when Stanislaus State handed them their first CCAA loss (82-78) of the season last Thursday.
•UCSD is averaging a CCAA-best 71.6 points per game while holding its opponents to 60.6 points.
•Dalayna Sampton and Mikayla Williams are both ranked in the top 10 in the CCAA statistic standings, averaging 13.9 and 13.6 points, respectively.

SONOMA STATE •CSUSM is 3-1 all-time against the Seawolves.
•The Cougars squashed an 11-point deficit with a 25-point fourth quarter to record a 58-49 victory over visiting Sonoma State last season. CSUSM shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the field in the final quarter.
•Sonoma State has won three of its last four games including a 56-55 upset over Cal State East Bay last Saturday night.
•Sonoma State ranks third in the CCAA in field goal percentage (41.3) and steals (9.35) per game.
•Ugochi Anudokern is leading the Seawolves in points (13.7) and rebounds (7.8) per game.

CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars went 1-0 in CCAA play this past week.
•CSUSM collected an 81-71 victory over Stanislaus State last Saturday. Senior Savannah Camp passed the 20-point plateau for the third time this season with 26 points against the Warriors.
•Camp and classmate Raegan Lillie are 1-2 on the team in scoring, averaging 16.3 and 9.1 points per game, respectively. Lillie leads the team in minutes played per game (29.9).
•CSUSM ranks first in the CCAA in 3-point field goal percentage defense (25.7) and defensive rebounds (30.5), second in blocked shots per game (4.40) and third in rebounding offense (41.3) per game.

UC SAN DIEGO •CSUSM is 2-2 all-time against the Tritons.
•Earlier this season, UCSD defeated the Cougars 78-66 on Homecoming Night at The Sports Center on Dec. 2. Christian Bayne led the Tritons with 24 points and seven rebounds.
•UCSD had a six-game win streak snapped after falling in overtime to Stanislaus State, 76-66, at home this past Thursday. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
•The Tritons rank second in the CCAA in assist/turnover ratio (1.32) and third in made 3-pointers per game (9.7). Christian Oshita and Bayne lead the team with 16.6 points per game.

SONOMA STATE •The Cougars are 1-2 all-time including back-to-back losses to the Seawolves.
•In the last meeting, SSU took down CSUSM 70-64 in San Marcos. Jimmy Golden (15), Mason Phillips (14) and Armani Nicolis (13) all scored in double-digits.
•The Seawolves lead the CCAA in free throw percentage (76.8), second in 3-point field goal percentage defense (31.2) and third in scoring defense (68.4).
•Armani Nicols, averaging 13.4 points per game, leads the team offensively and is the only player to average double-digits on the team.

CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars defeated Stanislaus State, 81-79, Saturday night at home in their lone game of the week. Senior Ethan Alvano scored a game-high 31 points including the game-winning 3-pointer with 18 seconds left in regulation.
•CSUSM ranks fourth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (43.6), 10th in fewest turnovers (179) and 18th in fewest turnovers per game (10.5).
•Alvano is ranked seventh in the nation in steals per game (2.59) and 11th in total steals. He also continues to lead the CCAA in scoring (22.3), assists (6.3), assist/turnover ratio (2.5), steals (2.6) and minutes per game (34.5).
