‘Tis the Season to Shop Local Returns to Downtown Oceanside

Oceanside, Calif. — Nov. 14, 2023: There are many reasons to shop local this holiday season: to support and help ensure the future of the local businesses you love, to keep more of the dollars you spend in our community and to find locally made gifts you won’t find anywhere else, to name a few. Here’s one more: When you shop local for the holidays in Oceanside, you get rewarded!

’Tis the Season to Shop Local is a fun, distinctly local holiday celebration inviting our community to explore Oceanside retail establishments and to shop local this holiday season. From Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, through Dec. 10, this unique and dynamic lineup includes of holiday programs and events featuring Shop & Win Downtown, a craft beverage tasting event, a makers fair offering handcrafted goods, a tree lighting celebration and more — all amid decorated shop windows, the glow of holiday lights and the cheerful sounds of live holiday music and carolers.

Tickets are still available for Sip & Shop in Downtown Oceanside for Saturday, 1-4 p.m. For $30 in advance or $40 the day of, participants can enjoy 16 tastings from their favorite local breweries, wineries and craft beverage makers while exploring downtown shops and listening to live holiday music. To avoid the price increase, purchase tickets at ShopLocalOceanside.com before Friday at midnight. Tickets will be sold on site.

MainStreet Oceanside is looking for volunteers that would like to serve alcoholic beverages to our ticket holders. MainStreet is having a same-day ABC training class this Saturday at noon, at 701 Mission Ave. After the training, volunteers will be immediately assigned to a Sip Stop to serve 1- to 3-ounce tastings. ’Tis the Season to Shop Local is an annual holiday campaign to support local retail businesses and artisans by encouraging residents and visitors to shop local during the holiday season. Sponsored by the San Diego County Community Enhancement Program and SDG&E, the campaign is a partnership between MainStreet Oceanside, City of Oceanside Economic Development. Discover an array of handcrafted and artisanal goods by 40-plus area makers at this free, 1 day holiday pop-up market in Artist Alley in Downtown Oceanside.

’Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest

Dec. 1-31

Enjoy festive holiday window displays throughout Oceanside while you shop, as shops and businesses decorate their storefronts. A panel of judges will judge the participants.

Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Gift Market

Dec. 7, 4:30-8pm

The City will host the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at the Regal Cinema Plaza, located at 401 Mission Avenue in Oceanside, on December 7, 2023 from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
