Topics for next Tuesday’s Carlsbad’s City Council Meeting

The agenda for the next City Council meeting is now available. Meeting will be in person at City Hall, staring at 6 p.m. Topics will include:

Bids for renovating the 36-year-old Police and Fire Headquarters to meet today’s public safety demands, and an energy saving design program for the project
More than $1.7 million in state funds to be used for new and improved bike lanes on Avenida Encinas between Carlsbad Boulevard and Palomar Airport Road
Moving and renovating a large water pipe under the section of I-5 that’s being widened
Accepting almost $30,000 in state grants for technical training for fire and police personnel
A 10-year lease agreement with New Village Arts for the city-owned building on State Street where the theater is currently housed
Banning overnight parking on Avenida Encinas north of Poinsettia Drive, and on two adjacent streets
Recovering the city’s costs for clearing dry weeds and trash on vacant lots around the city
A proposed four-unit condo project on Pine Avenue
An update on the city’s work to improve traffic flow, maintain streets and make it easier to get around town by walking and biking
The annual work plan for the city’s Traffic & Mobility Commission
What the city’s internal auditor will review this year
Appointment process for City Council District 1 vacancy
