Tri-City Chief Dr. Gene Ma and SD Chamber CEO Jerry Sanders Spoke to Community Leaders

The Vista Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual State of the Community luncheon on Monday January 27, 2012 at the Vista Civic Center in the Morris Vance Community Room. The Tri-City Medical Center update was given by Dr. Gene Ma, Chief Medical Officer. The Regional Economic update was given by Jerry Sanders, CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The community luncheon was attended by over 200 business and government leaders, including Mayor Peter Weiss of Oceanside and Mayor Rebecca Jones of San Marcos. City of Vista Mayor Judy Ritter gave the State of the City Address.

Sponsors of the event were Tri-City Medical Center, Scripps, Cal State San Marcos, Dr. Bronners, SDG&E, ECDO, Solatube and Chris Ryan Video Productions.

Deputy Mayor Amanda Rigby led the Pledge of Allegiance and Pastor Chris Brown from North Coast Church gave the Invocation. Rachel Beld, CEO of the Vista Chamber said, “It is important to bring everyone together at the beginning of the new year to reacquaint and look ahead at our common goal to build a strong community.”

Doctor Gene Ma is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Specialist and Chief of Staff of Tri-City Medical Center. He joined Tri-City Emergency Medical Group and WorkPartners in 2000 after graduating from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and completed his internship at the Stanford School of Medicine and residency at the University of California San Diego.


Jerry Sanders is a former American politician and law enforcement officer from San Diego, California. He is the former Mayor of San Diego and former Chief of Police. As of December 2012, he is the President and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce
