Tri-City Medical Center will partner with Sharp Healthcare under a long-term lease to strengthen services and stabilize finances. While initial talks with UCSD Health ended amicably, both organizations were strong contenders. Tri-City’s board will finalize a Letter of Intent with Sharp by mid-June, followed by a public vote in June 2026. Sharp’s $100 million investment covers seismic upgrades, assumes all debts, and includes rehiring labor and delivery services.
