San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to ask for the public’s help in identifying and
locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 38-year-old Luis Alberto Arroyo.
On July 26, 2021, at 2:14 a.m., the San Diego Police Communications Center received a report of possible gunshots in the Emerald Hills area. As patrol officers began checking the area, a man (later identified as Luis Alberto Arroyo) was found in the parking lot of Emerald Hills Park with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Officers began administering first aid and eventually performed CPR. San Diego FireRescue personnel arrived on scene and transported Arroyo to a local hospital.
Unfortunately, Arroyo did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Investigators from the San Diego Police Homicide Unit were called to the scene. Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting and are still in the process of looking for witnesses and information regarding the shooting.
