On August 6, 2022, the victim was pronounced deceased at a local area hospital. On August 7, an autopsy was conducted. The Medical Examiner has determined a preliminary cause of death is a gunshot wound to the head and manner of death is homicide.
At the request of the victim’s family, the Sheriff’s Department is not releasing his name at this time. The victim was a Ramona resident. The circumstances and motivations in this case are still under investigation.
