On May 15, 2024, at about 11:30 p.m., Palomar Hospital called the Sheriff’s Department to report they had a 17-year-old male in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Deputies arrived on scene a short time later and were told the victim had been transported there by two companions.
Through the initial investigation, detectives learned a group of people were standing in the parking lot of a business center at the 900 block of Los Vallecitos Blvd. in San Marcos. While in the parking lot, an unknown vehicle pulled over on Los Vallecitos Blvd, and an unknown suspect got out of the vehicle, pulled out a firearm and fired several rounds towards the group. One of the people in the group, a 17-year-old Hispanic male, was shot in the upper torso. The two companions drove the victim to Palomar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. The victim has been positively identified as 17-year-old Isaac Shekhayem of San Marcos.
On May 17, 2024, an autopsy was completed. The preliminary cause of death is a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.
At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation. There is no suspect information at this time.

Un muerto tras un tiroteo
El 15 de mayo de 2024, alrededor de las 11:30 p.m., el Hospital Palomar llamó al Departamento del Alguacil para informar que tenían a un hombre de 17 años en la sala de emergencias con una herida de bala en la parte superior del cuerpo. Los Oficiales llegaron a la escena poco tiempo después y se les dijo que la víctima había sido transportada allí por dos compañeros.
A través de la investigación inicial, los oficiales se enteraron de que un grupo de personas estaba parado en el estacionamiento de un centro de negocios en la cuadra 900 de Los Vallecitos Blvd. en San Marcos. Mientras estaba en el estacionamiento, un vehículo desconocido se detuvo en Los Vallecitos Blvd, y un sospechoso desconocido salió del vehículo, sacó un arma de fuego y disparó varias rondas hacia el grupo. Una de las personas del grupo, un hombre hispano de 17 años, recibió un disparo en la parte superior del torso. Los dos campaniones condujeron a la víctima al Hospital Palomar, donde sucumbió a sus heridas poco tiempo después. Ha sido identificado como Isaac Shekhayem, de 17 años, de San Marcos.
El 17 de mayo de 2024 se realizó la autopsia. La causa preliminar de la muerte es una herida de bala y la forma de muerte es homicidio.
En esta etapa de la investigación, la motivación y las circunstancias del crimen aún están bajo investigación. No hay información sospechosa en este momento.
