This past Friday, November 12th surrounded by friends and family, Urban Corps celebrated the Grand Opening of the Diane Chalmers Center, our new North County facility located at 2200 Micro Place, Escondido, CA. The Center will begin immediately serving 18-to-26 year-old young adults and the North County community in the same way we do at our Old Town San Diego location. We were honored to be joined by Assemblymember Marie Waldron, City of Escondido Mayor Paul McNamara, City of Escondido Councilmembers, representatives from the offices of Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer, Senator Brian Jones and Assemblymember Tasha Boerner-Horvath, along with members of City of Escondido staff, funders, partners and supporters. We are excited to celebrate this news with our Corps supporters and look forward to serving North County!
The Diane Chalmers Center was named after the late Diane Chalmers, President of the Board of Directors of the Urban Corps Charter School, whose love for the Corps and dedication to the school will live on through this new facility
