(VISTA, CA – February 13, 2025) – If you’re looking for something really special for Valentine’s Day, how about a 70lb solid rose quartz, heart-shaped Brazilian crystal for the love of your life? Or maybe you’d prefer a rare and exotic 65lb deep purple amethyst to show how much you care? These unique crystals and so much more are available at Beads, Crystals & More, the county’s largest bead and crystal store located in the heart of downtown Vista.
Store Owner Phil Fischman has spent the last 52 years faithfully attending the annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show looking for unique and rare treasures for his store and the special requests of his customers. The show is considered the world’s largest gathering of gem lovers across the globe, with about 65,000 attendees this year over this show’s two-week timeframe.
“My wife Valeri and I spend five full days every February walking the show, searching for treasures to bring back to the store,” says Fischman. “I look at hundreds of items and typically walk past 98.5 percent of what I see to find the highest quality products that really stand out to me,” he says. “I buy items as if I’m buying for my family. Every stone and gem have got to be that great!”
Fischman, whose love of gems and crystals began as a boy, is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to their history, origins, and purposes. “I’ve always had a special connection to crystals and can often feel their energy as I’m walking by them at the show,” he says. Fischman says he relies on a combination of experience, a discerning eye, intellect, spirit, intention, and vision to guide him when making his selections. “After five decades in this business, it’s become second nature to be as particular as I am.”
In addition to a wide variety of crystals and gems at the store, Fischman also has an incredible collection of ancient bead necklaces, statuettes, belts, and other exotic items from Native American and African origins dating back hundreds and even thousands of years. His museum-quality collection takes up an entire room at the store and is a testimony to his life-long love of beads, gems and crystals.
“It’s a labor of love at this point,” says Fischman. “There is real joy in helping people connect with nature and our earth through the powerful energy found in crystals and gems. We’ve been blessed to meet and serve hundreds of thousands of people through our shop and by doing so, their family and friends have also been touched, continually expanding the circle and our community.”
