Vasquez Named CCAA Player of the Week Women’s Basketball

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos’ Jordan Vasquez has been named the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 27 – Dec. 3.
Vasquez turned in two double-double games and averaged 16.5 points and 13 rebounds per contest as the Cougars beat Cal State LA and Cal State Dominguez Hills. The senior forward from Moreno Valley shot 58% (14-of-24) from the field and pulled down 26 rebounds (9 offensive, 17 defensive) with two assists and a blocked shot to lead the charge.

Against CCAA preseason-favorite Cal State LA on Thursday, Vasquez scored 15 points (6-of-9) with 11 rebounds with two assists and a blocked shot. Versus the defending conference regular-season champs Cal State Dominguez Hills, she posted 18 points (8-of-15) with 15 boards.
Vasquez has tallied five double-doubles this season and 31 in her collegiate career. This is her fourth CCAA player of the week award. She won the weekly award three times during the 2021-22 season.

CSUSM (5-2, 2-0 CCAA) continues its homestand with two more conference games at The Sports Center this week. The Cougars host Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday and Chico State on Saturday.
