OCEANSIDE, CA — On Friday, January 2, 2026, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Oceanside Police Department officers responded to a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of Oceanside Boulevard and College Boulevard.
Preliminary information indicates a black Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard struck a pedestrian who was seated on the center median, just east of the intersection with College Boulevard.
The pedestrian, an adult male, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, an adult male, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, the driver is not suspected of having been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Oceanside Police Department Traffic Services Unit responded and is conducting the investigation. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
