On April 8, 2020, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies and fire personnel responded to serious injury, vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and South Santa Fe Avenue, in the city of Vista. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that a 59-year-old pedestrian was walking westbound across Civic Center Drive, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Civic Center Drive. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Palomar Medical Center. The 31-year old driver was not injured and remained on scene after the collision. Alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in the collision.
The Vista Traffic division is conducting the investigation.
