On Tuesday, August 24th, in the beautiful outdoor courtyard of the Village Faire Shopping Center, the Carlsbad Village Association proudly hosted the return of Village Voices, its monthly business networking and information meeting. Started in 2015, these meetings were designed to help business owners, managers, and staff, as well as residents of Carlsbad Village to come together over coffee and conversation and build relationships. In addition, guest speakers are invited each month to keep all informed of important issues facing them, their businesses and their community.
The incoming Police Chief, Mickey Williams, talked to the group about safety issues on Tuesday and ways in which the city was working to combat the issue of homelessness in the Village. Mayor Matt Hall also addressed the group and talked about the city’s small business loan program and other business recovery efforts.
In his talk, Mickey Williams announced that the city, in collaboration with the Carlsbad Village Association, was hosting an hour-long webinar on the homeless issue and invited all business owners and residents to join in on the discussion. The webinar will be hosted on Thursday, September 2nd from 9am to 10am. You can register here for the webinar. We are looking forward to an open discussion on this issue and learning ways in which we can all work together to affect positive change.
Village Voices will continue to be held regularly, outdoors. Future meeting dates will be posted on the Village Voices webpage as soon as they are available. We hope to see you there!
