Last week we introduced you to the Carlsbad Is Calling campaign designed by our local travel and tourism bureau, Visit Carlsbad, who is tasked with marketing Carlsbad as a destination. We shared with you a three minute television infomercial of sorts that made the Village shine to our local, regional, and drive markets. Today, we are sharing with you the Carlsbad Is Calling campaign that highlights our amazing and unique Carlsbad Lagoon, an attraction for visitors and locals of all ages. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and relax while learning about another reason why Carlsbad is a premier destination.
As the City of Carlsbad’s official Destination Marketing Organization, the mission of Visit Carlsbad is to partner with the tourism and hospitality industry by protecting and nurturing the destination brand and to deliver additional spending by leisure and conference visitors, leading to enhanced community economic vitality and quality of life.
“Carlsbad hotels of all sizes are experiencing very good occupancy that will take us through summer and right into the holiday season,” said Mark Rudyck, Interim Executive Director for Visit Carlsbad. “This bodes well for the overall recovery for not only our hotels but for all businesses in Carlsbad. This increase in occupancy is exactly what we’ve been working towards for many months through our Carlsbad Is Calling campaign and is largely due to our local drive market vacationing in Carlsbad. Next year with the return of our international travelers and group business, Carlsbad will experience an even greater recovery.”
One way that Visit Carlsbad keeps Carlsbad “front of mind” is through dynamic videos of the destination. Several have been produced and distributed through local and regional TV stations and in print. The Carlsbad Is Calling video on Carlsbad Village is one such piece that aired locally and as far as Phoenix, AZ. Over the course of the next three weeks we will share with you the various videos that Visit Carlsbad has created to help promote our amazing destination.
