VISTA — A whirlwind and frustrating process culminated Tuesday with the Vista City Council unanimously approving the Moonlight Amphitheatre concessions contract with DLS Events.
The Los Angeles-based corporation replaces Oceanside-based Bread and Cheese Eatery, which held the contract from 2021 to 2025. However, the request for proposal process was delayed several weeks after “significant community feedback” regarding the process.
Regardless, the initial contract term runs through Dec. 31 with the option for four one-year extensions.
The city opened the RFP on Nov. 13, 2025, as the Bread and Cheese contract expired on April 1. On March 20, the recommendation was ready to go before the council, but the agenda item was pulled, a new RFP was issued on March 23 and culminated with Tuesday’s vote.
Since there was a delay, DLS will not be ready for two concerts on Friday and Saturday, so the Vista Chick-fil-A franchise will be the interim operator, Mayor John Franklin said. Vista Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Rachel Beld said…..
