On Dec 19 2019, at about 1200 hours, Vista deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of North Citrus at Orange Street, and found an adult male who suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the back of his leg. The male was transported to Palomar Medical Center without delay where he underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries.
Several witnesses were interviewed, and it was determined the two involved males both discharged firearms, and it is unknown what caused the altercation.
The other male, who fired his weapon from inside a vehicle, fled the scene before deputies arrived. He is still outstanding and is possibly wounded.
