VISTA, CA – The Vista Chamber of Commerce congratulates Vista Unified School District and ten of its schools on being named to the 2026 California Honor Roll by Educational Results Partnership (ERP). Vista Unified was also recognized as an Honor Roll District.

The 2026 Vista Unified Honor Roll schools are:

Alamosa Park Elementary
Breeze Hill Elementary
Casita Center for Science/Math/Technology
Empresa Elementary
Lake Elementary
T.H.E. Leadership Academy
Vista Magnet Middle School of Technology, Science, and Math
Vista Visions Academy
Mission Vista High School
Rancho Buena Vista High School

Every one of these schools was named a STAR School, a designation for schools where at least 33 percent of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Statewide, 2,080 schools and 168 districts made this year’s Honor Roll, roughly 24 percent of eligible schools and 22 percent of eligible districts. The full list is posted at honorrollschools.com/lists.

“Vista schools are getting strong results for every group of students they serve, including kids facing real economic challenges at home,”

said Rachel Beld, CEO of the Vista Chamber of Commerce. “That matters to every employer in Vista and North County. The reading, writing and math skills being built in these classrooms are the foundation of our future workforce. On behalf of our members, congratulations to the teachers, principals, staff and families who made this happen.”

This is the twelfth year ERP has released the Honor Roll, which recognizes public schools, districts and charter schools that outperform their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged students. It is the only school recognition program presented in partnership with state and local business leaders that uses solely objective student achievement data. Schools are recognized for consistently higher achievement across all student populations, improvement over time, and narrowing gaps for historically disadvantaged students, based on California Department of Education CAASPP results for 2024 through 2026. “We cannot predict every career that will exist tomorrow, but we can recognize the schools doing an exceptional job of preparing students for whatever the future holds,” said Alex Barrios, President & CEO of Educational Results Partnership. “At a time of unprecedented technological change, the ability to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, and continue learning will be more valuable than ever. This year’s Honor Roll schools deserve recognition for providing the strong academic foundations and essential skills that open doors to opportunity and empower students to shape their own futures.”

The Vista Chamber of Commerce is one of 28 chambers of commerce statewide co-presenting the 2026 California Honor Roll, alongside the California Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation for Commerce and Education, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles and San Francisco Chambers of Commerce, and others, as part of the national Campaign for Business and Education Excellence.
