The City’s personnel practices are guided by the Municipal Code and Personnel Rules. On September 13, 2022, the City Council approved an ordinance changing Municipal Code Section 2.20.030.B requiring that the City Manager make department head appointments in consultation and agreement with a majority of the City Council. At that time, the City Council directed staff to bring forward a proposal for a City Council policy to govern the hiring of department heads. READ FULL AGENDA
