VISTA, CA – Vista Community Clinic (VCC) is excited to announce its partnership with Palomar College in Fallbrook for this year’s Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 21st. As part of VCC’s ongoing efforts to encourage a healthier, tobacco-free community, VCC’s Tobacco Prevention Program is collaborating with Palomar College to host a day of informative, supportive activities aimed at helping individuals quit smoking and stay smoke-free.
The event, held on the Palomar College Fallbrook campus, will feature several activities designed to highlight the benefits of a smoke-free lifestyle and provide resources for those looking to quit. Attendees can look forward to interacting with program staff and experts who can provide information on quitting smoking, giveaways, and support resources from VCC’s team. In addition, participants will join a small community cleanup effort, helping to collect and dispose of tobacco product waste around the campus and nearby areas.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Palomar College for the Great American Smokeout,” said Jennifer Gill, Program Manager at VCC. “This event is a powerful reminder of the positive changes that can happen when we come together as a community to create a healthier environment. By providing support and resources and encouraging everyone to participate in the cleanup, we hope to inspire a stronger commitment to a tobacco-free future.”
The Great American Smokeout, an annual initiative by the American Cancer Society, inspires thousands to quit smoking each year by highlighting the immediate and long-term benefits of a smoke-free life. VCC, in partnership with Palomar College, are proud to promote public health and encourage healthier choices within local communities.
The event is open to all students, faculty, and community members. For more information on VCC’s outreach programs and their impact on the community, please visit www.vcc.org.
