Vista Declares Second Week of October 2023 as “Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week”

Mayor John Franklin presented a Proclamation at Vista City Hall on Tuesday October 10, 2023

WHEREAS, Code Enforcement Officers provide for the safety, health, and welfare of residents through the enforcement of local and state laws and ordinances dealing with various issues of building, zoning, housing, environmental, safety, and quality of life.

Code Enforcement Officers are dedicated, highly qualified and trained professionals who diligently build cooperative partnerships with Vista residents and businesses to help improve the quality of life and maintain community standards in an equitable and impartial manner.

Vista Code Enforcement Officers regularly coordinate with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, other City departments, and external agencies to effectively disseminate information and pursue complex cases that require diligence, patience, understanding, and education.

Code Enforcement Officers have a visible role in the City of Vista and regularly interact with the public in their capacity as officers and community liaisons.

The Mayor and members of the Vista City Council recognizes our Code Enforcement Officers, who faithfully serve our community and acknowledge their critical role helping to improve the quality of life within our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and members of the Vista City Council hereby proclaim the second week of October 2023 as “Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week” in the City of Vista and encourage Vista residents to join in expressing their appreciation for the dedication and continued service of our Code Enforcement Officers.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto set our hands and affixed the seal this 10th day of October 2023.
