Vista Girl Scouts Earn Car Care Badge

Vista Girl Scouts earned their car care badge by learning all about basic car care and maintenance from TJ Crossman. He opened his Vista shop today to give girls first-hand experience in changing a car’s oil and filter, gauging tire pressure, rotating tires, and checking all fluid levels. The girls were able to get their hands dirty using all the necessary tools: socket wrenches, power tools, hydraulic lifts, and air guns.

They learned the importance of maintaining their vehicle and how that can save them money in the long run.

They learned to use a penny to check their tire tread and to always be prepared for emergencies. They were putting the Girl Scout Law to use today as they were courageous and strong in trying new things and realizing that they could do anything!
TJ Crossman is a gift to Vista. He is a successful business owner, and Girl Scout leader. He believes in giving girls opportunities to succeed in life. His philanthropy was not lost on the 11 girls that attended the Car Care Badge Workshop. Thank you TJ and for all that you do for your community! You are making the world a better place!
