The City of Vista invites the community to gather in gratitude at the Salute to Service: Vista Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 9 am at Veterans Memorial Park, 267 S. Santa Fe Avenue (across from Pepper Tree Frosty).
This annual event offers residents a meaningful opportunity to come together, reflect, and honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
This year’s keynote speaker is Colonel Vincent Lostetter, USAF, Ret., whose distinguished 24-year military career included leadership as Vice Commander of the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base and service as an instructor pilot and C-130 Aircraft Commander.
The Vista City Council—Mayor John Franklin, Deputy Mayor Katie Melendez, and Councilmembers Corinna Contreras, Dan O’Donnell, and Jeff Fox—will join community members, veterans, and guests for this special morning of reflection and pride.
Special guests include representatives from Veterans Assistance North County; John Mullen of the Purple Heart Foundation; Tom Moore, Post Commander of American Legion Post 365; Paul Krueger, Post Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7041; and Lt. Col. Rick Espitia, USMC, Ret., CEO of Wounded Warrior Homes.
The ceremony will feature the National Anthem performed by Deputy Camille Reyes of the San Diego Sheriff’s Office and a trumpet performance by Corey Wickline, adding a heartfelt musical tribute to those who have served.
Join us as Vista stands united in honoring all who have worn our nation’s uniform.
