Vista Fire Department personnel responded to a structure fire at 323 Dorsey Way at 11:59 am on March 3, 2020. A neighbor contacted 911 to report black and gray smoke coming from the house. The first firefighters arrived on scene 7 minutes after receiving the 911 call and reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and requested additional resources. Twenty two firefighters from Vista, Oceanside and San Marcos extinguished the fire in 20 minutes. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two civilians were also injured on scene and both were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and there is no dollar amount lost available, but the damage to the home and the contents is extensive.
