The Vista Chamber of Commerce continues to build a sense of community and shared responsibility by reinforcing relationships between businesses in the community Ultimately, the connection of businesses within this community highlights the importance of collective action in times of need, highlighting the idea that when businesses help each other, the entire community stands stronger in the face of adversity.
A few businesses in Vista, including a family restaurant called Mrs. Taco, experienced an incident on August 12th. A fire started in a connected building next to these businesses, which caused severe water damage to Mrs. Taco forcing them to shut down for at least 2 months for repairs and insurance claims. Valerie’s Taco Stand, in collaborative efforts with the Vista Chamber, took the lead to demonstrate social responsibility and unity as a response to this incident. Chris Ibarra, owner of Valerie’s Taco Stand, created a Taco Tuesday event to fundraise for this cause. In continual support to the community, the Chamber allowed more businesses to share best practices, knowledge, and strategies to help this cause. Local Roots Kombucha, a member of the Vista Chamber, heard the news and responded quickly to support to this cause. The Vista Chamber has helped us to remember that we are all in this together and that we can all help each other out in times of need.
