The City of Carlsbad’s new housing plan has been approved by the state, paving the way for more affordable housing. The city updated its housing plan, something required by state law, to ensure the city is meeting the housing needs of all members of the community. This includes updates to city housing policies and next selecting sites for about 3,900 new housing units, of which about 2,100 units need to be affordable for people with very low to moderate incomes.
Next steps will include public input later this summer on potential sites for future housing to meet state requirements.
