Support the Revision of AB 966 for Shoreline Erosion Control

SOS is asking you to ACT NOW and send in a letter of support for the revision of Assembly Bill 966 (for Shoreline Erosion Control)
What This Means:
BACKGROUND
Our city, region and state’s coastal resilience continue to degrade. While many California cities and regions are working hard to address this issue, this is a state-wide condition that requires immediate attention from our elected officials in Sacramento. Our recently elected Assembly Member Laurie Davies is doing just that with a revision to Assembly Bill NO. 966 to require the state to proactively address shoreline erosion control.

“This bill would require the division to, no later than January 1, 2025, and in cooperation with the State Coastal Conservancy, prepare and submit a joint report to the Legislature on shoreline erosion control and public beach restoration programs, as specified. The bill would require the report, among other things, to detail and discuss existing programs, evaluate the need for continued projects and program application requirements, and identify the beaches of the state that contain a critically eroded shoreline, as this bill would define the term’. – Assembly Bill NO. 966, Legislative Counsel’s Digest.
