Art In The Village Artist Ambassador, Roy Kerckhoffs, hand paints black and white photographs and turns them into visual memories. Several years ago, Roy and his daughter were on the Big Island of Hawaii and they kept crossing paths with this first-generation, 1950’s VW bus, but sadly he could never grab a photo of it. On the final day of their trip, their plane was delayed quite a bit, so they went snorkeling to kill some time. As they were leaving the parking lot on their way back to the airport, they came across the VW bus again, and he could finally capture its image. This whimsical piece of Roy’s, complete with Puffy, the family’s Lhaso Apso, and many others will be on display at Art in the Village, currently scheduled for Sunday, June 28th from 9am to 5pm. Roy will be demonstrating his art form live throughout the day. Please “save the date” and plan to join us in the Village to celebrate 22 years of creativity by the coast where over 100 local and regional artists will fill our downtown with artistry.
