Join us from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm when four downtown blocks of Carlsbad Village will turn into an open-air art show for the 24th Annual Art in the Village. Stroll our charming Village streets, just two blocks from the ocean, and take in amazing artwork, live music on stage, performance art, demonstrations, and interactive displays.
Held every Summer since 1998, the Carlsbad Village Association has hosted Art in the Village, a free, one-day, open-air art show, that features fine artists from all over the region. All artwork is juried and you can meet the artists in their booths the day of the event. Oil, watercolor, mixed media, digital, photography, glasswork, woodworking, jewelry, pottery, and more will be on display and for purchase. Preview the artists who will be attending in the gallery below.
What can you expect at Art in the Village? In addition to amazing fine art on display, you can also enjoy live demonstrations including sculpting, glass art, and even chalk art. All of these activations will have seating so that you can enjoy seeing the artwork come alive before your eyes.
Three musical acts will be on the Grand Avenue stage and solo sidewalk performers will play throughout the venue.
The City of Carlsbad will be hosting the Pop-Up Art (formerly Family Open Studios) art making booth for children and art enthusiasts of all ages. Trained instructors will guide interested artists in creating works of art on their own. A face painter will be nearby to add to the fun.
New this year is the CVA Food, Wine, and Beer garden. This is a family-friendly location in the heart of the venue at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue that will offer gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, Charcuterie cups to go, fish burritos and poke, and much more. Craft beer by Pure Project will be on hand along with wine by Carruth Cellars. These local food and drink purveyors are creating something special in the garden and we hope you will join us there!
Come experience the Village and enjoy the many fine boutiques in our very ‘walkable’ downtown. With ample public parking, you can park the car and spend the day on foot. Or, consider the Coaster! The train depot is just steps away from the Art in the Village location.
