CARLSBAD — Nearly a century ago one of the city’s oldest landmarks was born, and now, it’s up for auction.
The Carlsbad Theater on State Street has a long and prominent history, although the building has been vacant for the past several years after being bought by RPG, an Encinitas-based commercial real estate firm and developer. The starting bid for the property is $600,000, according to the auction site Ten-X, and bidding closes on Wednesday morning, leaving some holding their breath as to the future of the theater.
