Oceanside, CA (August 5, 2020)-Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has received a $703 grant from the San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization (CECO). Support from CECO was utilized to replace BGCO’s roll up door to our equipment closet in our gymnasium, which was in dire need of updating.
This well used equipment door had been open and closed for decades and could no longer be pulled down to secure the closet. The closet houses all manner of sports equipment, lights and power supplies. Due to CECO’s generosity the door has been replaced and was ready to go right on time for summer camp. BGCO reopened for summer camp on June 15th and is providing youth with a variety of exciting enrichment opportunities
“We are so incredibly grateful for CECO’s support. After being stuck at home for months, our kids were craving physical activity and were excited to play with peers again, albeit while social distancing. This grant has allowed us to ensure that our Club can safely secure our valuable equipment and provide for the children we serve,” said Jodi Diamond, CEO.
Club safety is our topmost priority. BGCO is implementing summer camp in accordance with social distancing and all health and safety regulations set forth by San Diego County, the State of California, and the CDC. While summer may look a little different this year, BGCO campers and staff alike are overjoyed to be back at the Club.
