This year has been a challenging year for most businesses. Like most businesses the first part of the year was slow for Cosmic Solar, Inc. They realized the upside was that they could get caught up on projects that previously they hadn’t had time for.
Earlier this year, Cosmic Solar hired a roofing manager and four experienced roofers, and started their own roofing division. This was a perfect match for their solar division because they never install solar panels on any roof that is in need of repair. So they now have their own licensed roofing specialists. With all the rain last year, the last 3 months have been very busy repairing and replacing roofs, as well as installing solar systems.
Cosmic Solar also started a Service Department. They hired Tom Bowyer, who is very experienced in solar technology to head up their service department. Many of the solar systems they installed over the years for their clients have passed their ten year service warranty and need to be inspected and or cleaned. They also receive many calls from homeowners or businesses with solar who say their solar company is no longer in business and they need their systems repaired or serviced. They can now purchase a service warranty from Cosmic Solar.
One promise they had been too busy to keep was installing a solar system for the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens. Judith & Bahram Shadzi, owners of Cosmic Solar & Roofing have been members of Alta Vista Botanical Gardens for four years. They were at the Gardens 2018 Earth Day Festival and their solar consultant Ken Davami met Sivana Gur and she was opening a gift shop for the gardens. She asked if Cosmic Solar could donate 6 solar panels to generate electricity for air conditioning in the shop. The Shadzis have been so impressed with the beautiful gardens that are cared for totally by volunteers. Judith promised her they would donate the solar system, and this July they installed ten high efficiency solar panels for the Gardens. The solar is up and ready to go.
Cosmic Solar and Roofing was awarded one of the top 100 rooftop solar companies in the nation for the seventh year in a row. In 2018 they were selected as one of Vista’s Hero businesses. They are very active with the Vista Chamber of Commerce, and the local community.
