Car Jacking Suspect Apprehended

On September 7, 2022, an astute resident of the City saw a van outside of his home that appeared to have been involved in a collision. He, and other residents, kept an eye on a man that was in the neighborhood telling people that he needed help and had been in an accident. When officers arrived, they figured out the car had been carjacked in San Diego earlier that day. With the help of San Diego PD, the officer found the girl who had been carjacked and successfully arrested the man that had carjacked her.

Car Exhaust Competition Prompts Gunfire Calls

On September 10, 2022, numerous residents began calling the dispatch center. They all were concerned that they were hearing gunfire in their neighborhood. A large contingency of officers drove to the area to investigate. Using social media, a lieutenant was able to find a live stream on an event in the area. Two cars were having a machine gun exhaust competition. The cars are equipped with exhausts that are designed to backfire and sound like a machine gun. EPD was glad that it was a permitted car show and that everyone was safe.
