Fallbrook Crime Suppression Team deputies observed Ruben Vidaca (41), who had an active warrant for his arrest, driving in the area of South Pico Avenue and West Elder Street in the unincorporated town of Fallbrook. The deputies conducted an enforcement stop of Vidaca who yielded at the intersection. Vidaca was quickly handcuffed and arrested for his outstanding warrant without incident. Deputies discovered Vidaca was in possession of a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a search of his person.
During a search of Vidaca’s vehicle, deputies located a loaded 9mm handgun in the vehicle’s passenger compartment. Additionally, a 22-caliber rifle and ammunition were discovered in the vehicle’s trunk. Both firearms had their serial numbers altered, which prevented identifying their owners. The firearms will be sent to the Sheriff’s Crime Lab to assist with their identification.
Vidaca was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on his outstanding warrant and numerous weapons and narcotics charges.
